I’m never sure if I’m a librarian that makes prints or a printmaker that works with books. I’ve been making prints for almost 30 years and have been a librarian for over 20 — I grew up in Detroit, Michigan but have been living and working in Connecticut since 2005. I teach both intaglio and relief techniques and I work primarily in woodcut.
I have a BFA and an MFA in printmaking and have the great fortune to be able to work each day among some of the most beautiful and important works of art of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries in the Yale Center for British Art.
My studio is small but my needs are not great. I print most of my wood blocks using a small etching press made by the Conrad Machine Company in Whitehall, Michigan.
